School Nurse Network of Allegany
County (SNNAC)-A collaborative effort with
Allegany County school nurses to provide
an increase awareness of drug and alcohol
abuse among youth within their local
schools and communities.

(TIPs)-Certified responsible beverage

Hairdressers Alliance for Youth- A
coordinated effort and partnership to help
decrease the risk for underage drinking
during prom and graduation season.
Reality Check-a youth-led initiative about
awareness of tobacco advertising targeting
youth. Youth advocate for tobacco policy
change.
Underage Drinking Deterence
Initiative-Coalition collaborates with NYS
Police and Cuba Police with media support
to create a deterence to drugged and
drunk driving. Compliance Checks,
Sobriety Checkpoints and Saturation
Patrols are a few examples.

Comprehensive Adolescent Pregnancy
Prevention (CAPP)-A multi-agency
collaborative initiative that helps to reduce
adolescent pregnancy and provides
services to young mothers and fathers.
Teen Advisory Board--Youth led
community service initiative that increases
awareness of alcohol and drug use,
encourages healthy choices, and provides
leadership opportunities for at-risk youth.
Pill Drop--Highly collaborative initiative that
provides coordinated safe disposal of
prescription and over-the-counter drugs to
reduce availability of illegal sales on the
streets and within the schools.
GOD, BASEBALL, WILDERNESS & FAST CARS
VISUAL SOCIOLOGY GIS PROJECT

"God, Baseball, Wilderness, &
Fastcars"- A visual sociology project to
utilize GIS mapping of spaces & places for
youth, taking a deeper look into our area's
assets.
A collaborative project led by the Rural Justice Institute
of Alfred University
Family MATTERS-A multi-agency special
task force, led by Kinship Family & Youth
Services, is working addressing the lack of
supervision and rules and educating
parents on taking the next steps to ensure
communication, build expectations, and
healthy parenting.
