Meth Busters

The Meth Busters Campaign is a special project that increases awareness of local methamphetamine labs and prevention. The mission is to encourage the safe disposal and lock up of your dangerous chemicals and propane tanks used for cleaning, camping and grilling.

Cooking meth is highly toxic to the home and surrounding environments, and extreme flammable and explosive materials are used. Locking up your cleaning chemicals in safe storage, as well as your propane tanks, helps reduce the availability of those chemicals and materials needed for production.

Each of us can be the first line of defense by keeping a watch on our neighborhoods. Often times you will see large amounts of spray cans, chemicals, hoses, and tanks, which are possible indicators there is a meth lab operating in your neighborhood. Meth labs also operate in small campers that are mobile units. If you are on a campground, be aware of potential problems associated with meth use.

Report any suspicious activity to your local or state police departments. Meth users and cookers do not care about your safety or the safety of others, even small children or pets in the home. Please contact local law enforcement if you suspect children and pets are being directly exposed to dangerous levels of chemicals and gases.
