The School Nurses Network of Allegany County (SNNAC) consists of representatives from the Cuba, Wellsville, Bolivar, Friendship, Andover, Scio, Whitesville, and Belfast School districts.  Their mission is to build a bridge of communication between school nurses and the local community.  The PPAC sub-committee has been meeting since 2007 collaborating on initiatives that focus on prevention of alcohol and substance abuse, health and wellness, as well as community and school involvement.

Allegany County is a designated Health Provider Shortage Area, which means nurses are faced with the realities of limited resources to disseminate information and access to vital medical, mental health, and dental services for the students and their families.  SNNAC provides opportunities for connection and information sharing as well as training and education for the most recent information regarding alcohol and drug use and other significant public health concerns.
